Lisa Pajon et Hédi Tillette de Clermont-Tonnerre / Théâtre Irruptionnel
It was in 2000, at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Paris, that Lisa Pajon & Hédi Tillette de Clermont-Tonnerre met and began their series of dialogues.
Their dialogue led to the establishment of the Théâtre Irruptionnel company, a mutual theatrical adventure based on their core principles: the idea of theatre for all, artistically demanding, executed with joy and enthusiasm.
For fifteen years they have worked on this idea of theatre for all audiences, telling a wide range of stories with complex themes: the place of mothers in the Arab world (Um Kulthum, tu es ma vie! [Um Kulthum, you are my life!]), capitalism (Les Deux Frères et les Lions [The two brothers and the lions]), the feminine mystique (Les Mystiques, ou comment j’ai perdu mon ordinateur entre Niort et Poitiers [The mystiques, or how I lost my computer between Niort and Poitiers]) or the sacrifice of sons by their fathers in wartime (STO – titre provisoire [STO – working title]).
The company “erupts” (a play on the company’s name) nomadically, among others at the Maison de la Culture in Amiens, the Théâtre de la Cité Internationale, the Maison de la Culture in Bourges, the CDN in Reims, the CDN in Limoges, the Nouveau Théâtre de Montreuil, the Scène Nationale in Cherbourg, and at the Philharmonie in Paris.
In 2010 and 2014, the company began a long four-year residency in Seine-Saint-Denis, specifically at the Forum–scène conventionnée in Blanc-Mesnil. In 2013, the company was associated with a project led by Paul-Jacques Hulot at the Moulin du Roc – scène nationale in Niort, and began its regional presence. The company then moved to Vienne, doing multiple residencies, creations and other cultural actions in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The company was also associated for a season at the Théâtre du Château of Barbezieux, and for three seasons at three different venues: the Scène de territoire – Théâtre in Bressuire, Les 3T – Scène conventionnée in Châtellerault and the Théâtre de Thouars, accompanied artistically by the DRAC.
At the same time the company continued with actions in the region, with student teachers from the Rectorat of the Academy in Poitiers, and participating in the implementation of a regional Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Niort.
