Le Birgit Ensemble

Since the beginning of our collaboration and the founding of the Birgit Ensemble, music has played a central role in the dramaturgy of our shows, which are by nature polymorphic, polyphonic and multidisciplinary. Furthermore, we are drawn to the cabaret format because of the proximity and conviviality it creates with the audience. By playing with the codes specific to the world of cabaret, we create an evolving musical form with original compositions that adapt to current events in France and Europe with each new performance.

In a café-concert setting, which can be adapted to suit the desires and requirements of the venues in which we perform, the audience is seated in small groups at tables, close to the performers. In the tradition of the Brechtian school, the songs and sketches take the form of burlesque and satire to better caricature French and European political figures.

The seventh opus will be created for the next presidential election, planned in Spring 2027. From high-energy rallies to hushed backstage areas, we’ll take a look at the latest election news together, with humour and bite. A real cure for anxiety.
