SILENCE VACARME

A theatrical and musical score for a woman who embodies many, SILENCE VACARME was born out of director Pauline Ringeade’s desire to compose a solo piece for the actress, singer and musician Claire Rappin, who has performed in most of her previous creations.

 

After Pister les créatures fabuleuses, Pauline Ringeade and l’imaginarium continue their exploration of our relationship with living things. This hybrid show combines intimate stories, historical and scientific perspectives, and sensory experiences. Everything starts with sound, noise, and song — that of birds, bats, and humans too. Claire guides us through the memories and places that make her who she is — gardens, mountains… She lets us hear the voices of the women in her family, the whistling of starlings, but also the echo of the struggles to emancipate our bodies and imaginations from narratives of domination.

 

Through these stories of care and hospitality, the play invites us to a listening experience that is both concrete and poetic, renewing our attention to the world and those who inhabit it.

 

“At every moment, all over the world, multiple elements vibrate simultaneously. And this happens constantly. Sounds travel long distances, sometimes kilometres, passing through matter, through our bodies, our organs, our cells. Even if our ears cannot hear all these sounds, they vibrate constantly, around and within us.”
