Marco da Silva Ferreira / Fantasie minor
Missions
“Here are two dancers who take over the stage as if conquering a vacant space. In all their heaviness, they embrace the contradiction posed by the music’s twirling notes: bad-boy attitudes, hunched backs, spread thighs… Their bodies refuse to be swayed. Nevertheless, it doesn’t take much for the lightness of Schubert’s Fantasy in F minor to become a playground for these two performers, who are well versed in urban dance. Catching the pulse in jerks of the shoulders or legs, but also launching into a pas de deux that is as fraternal as it is competitive, with lifts, glides, piqués, and diverted points… With choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira, the weight of the bodies, the weight of the music, and the weight of classical or hip-hop codes fly away to offer unprecedented variations and invent a new space for sharing open to sensibilities. From fragile attempts to virtuoso absurdities, another vision of grace.”

COLLECTION TOUT-TERRAIN DE OASES
OASES commissions and produces dance pieces that can be performed anywhere, reaching out to residents in a wide variety of areas. These pieces reflect our desire to bring dance to spaces and areas that are not usually associated with choreography. With an extraordinary variety of expressions, they are all-terrain and designed to take over village halls and squares as well as historic monuments, parks, and tourist sites. With the powerful idea that by leaving its reserved spaces, contemporary dance will reach out to the population.
